Welcome to the School District 81 website!

As I walk through the school buildings, I am overwhelmed with pride and excitement. Every day I see students throughout the district completely engaged in meaningful and productive learning experiences.   The faculty and staff are wholly dedicated to the success and experience of our students, and I could not be more appreciative of their dedication. While academic success is always at the forefront of our hopes for our students, it is also a joy and comfort, and equally important to me, to see that our children are incredibly happy.  The students enjoy social and emotional experiences that put smiles on their face.   

My hope is to share what I see with our entire community; therefore District 81 is taking advantage of the benefits technology has to offer. Our website features videos showcasing examples of excellence throughout our learning community. Parent and student resources, community links and important district and school board information can also be accessed.

The most treasured part of my workday is the time I spend with the students in their classrooms, at after-school programs and during special events. I chronicle these experiences in the Superintendent's Blog, found on our website, and post accompanying pictures that capture the enthusiasm that permeates School District 81. Another form of communication is a monthly e-newsletter that will deliver classroom and community highlights, upcoming events and important notes from the district directly to your e-mail inbox. Engaging district constituents and providing open and transparent communication is central to building a collaborative community. I thank all of the members of the District 81 community for working collaboratively to provide stellar experiences for our students, and I look forward to our many future successes.
