Welcome back letter from Dr. Boryszewski

Dear School District 81 families,

On behalf of the Board of Education and myself, I am delighted to welcome you to the 2013-14 school year! I hope that your summer break has been filled with happy and memorable moments.

The first day of student attendance is Wednesday, August 14th.  Our teachers and administrators have been making preparations for the new school year, and are looking forward to welcoming their students back to school.

At the District office, we have been busy designing a new District 81 website, and I am excited to share with you that it will be accessible on August 1st.  Our new website is another way of keeping you informed about what is going on in your child’s school community, and where you can receive up-to-date information about everything from upcoming events to information from the Business office.  The School District 81 website address is www.sd81.org.

Communicating with parents will always be a top priority of the District’s, and we are always looking for ways to enhance communication. The Superintendent’s blog will continue to give you a glimpse of daily life in our schools, and you can also sign up to receive important notices and our District newsletter by joining “Notify Me” on our website.

In addition to staying connecting through these channels, you will also now have the opportunity to follow District 81 on Twitter.  Our goal is to share event reminders and good news from our schools through Twitter so that you are constantly connected and informed.

I am happy to welcome returning students and families to the new school year, and to meet those who are new to the District. I look forward to spending time with you and your children in our schools and at special events. I hope you take advantage of the many ways to stay connected with us, and to get involved.  Please enjoy these last few weeks of summer making new memories with those you love.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kimberly Boryszewski
Superintendent of Schools
