Members of the Schiller Park School District 81 Board of Education were honored by the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) on October 3rd. Select members who have shown dedication and commitment to public education and their local school districts were recognized last night at the West Cook Division Meeting hosted at Mannheim Middle School.
Vice President Allison Downs received the LeaderShop Fellow distinction. Vice President Downs’ participation in ongoing professional development led to receiving this prestigious award.
Board Secretary Tina Ewanio received her fellowship in October of 2016. She and the other SD81 Board members continue to grow as public servants by participating in these trainings as well as local and national conferences and committee work.
President Maryann Desecki and Vice President Downs received pins commemorating their continued status as Master Board Member.
“I continue to feel honored and blessed to work alongside dedicated Board members who consistently make decisions with their eyes on the needs of our students,” said Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kimberly Boryszewski.
